Our Route

Day 1 (20 June)
Johannesburg - Ghanzi (Botswana). We want to stick to the main roads, and why not see Botswana if we can. All the way on the A2.
927 kms:11 hours and 53 minutes.
One border crossing.
Day 2 (21 June)
Ghanzi – Hochfeld or Waterberg
All the way on the C30
687 kms: 9 hours and 38 minutes
One border crossing
Day 3 (22 June) - CHECKPOINT PARTY - NAMIBIA
Hochfeld / Waterberg - Etosha
280 kms: 4 hours 9 minutes
Day 4 (23 June)
Day in Etosha
Seeing the animals and the pan. Enjoying not too many hours of driving in a day!
Day 5 (24 June)
Etosha to Popa Falls
543 kms: 7 hours 47 minutes
Day 6 (25 June)
Popa Falls over Ngoma and to Kasane (back into Bots)
This goes through Caprivi
382 kms: 5 hours and 13 minutes to Ngoma Bridge (BORDER) and then another hour to the Flood Plains.
Day 7 (26 June)
Kasane to Livingstone
130 kms (via Kasane): 2 hours
One border crossing or two depending if we go via Zim or Zambia (Kazungula ferry)
Day 8 (27 June) - CHECKPOINT PARTY - ZAMBIA
Shoe drop!! Potential bungee or rafting!
Day 9 (28 June)
Livingstone to Kariba Ferry - about 3 hours
Ferry saves us a day of driving and a night of camping (boom!)
Day 10 (29 June) - CHECKPOINT PARTY - KARIBA
Kariba – where the crocodiles roam
Day 11 (30 June)
Kariba to Ngoni or Lusandwa or Chipata
to Ngoni/Chipata is 723 kms: 9 hours 39 mins
to Lusandwa is 640 kms: 8 hours 20 mins
One border crossing
Day 12 (1 July)
Ngoni or Lusandwa or Chipata to Senga Bay
from Lusandwa 437 kms: 6 hours 11 mins
from Chipata 265 kms: 3 hours 40 mins
One border crossing
Day 13 (2 July) - CHECKPOINT PARTY - MALAWI
Senga Bay
Day 14 (3 July)
Senga Bay to Tete
Straight on the M5
410 kms: 5 hours 36 mins
One border crossing
Day 15 (4 July)
Tete - Nova Sofala
681 kms: 9 hours 7 mins
Day 16 (5 July)
Nova Sofala - Vilankulos
Straight on route 102
349 kms: 4 hours 33 mins
Day 17 (6 July) - CHECKPOINT PARTY - MOZAMBIQUE
Vilankulos - White Sands (Inhambane)
Straight on the EN1
292 kms: 3 hours 49 mins
