- Lovely self-inflatable mattresses - I just can't face three weeks on a ground sheet, one of the many reasons I haven't joined the army.
- Proper sleeping bags that aren’t the same ones we used in primary school. Not least because I think this would completely ruin any street cred we may have. Somehow me stumbling out of the tent wrapped in a disney princess sleeping bag just doesn't really say "Put foot rally queen of the world".
- A compass. Sense of direction not being our strength.
- First aid kit. This seems sensible right?
- Axe – I’ve always wanted one and apparently sometimes one needs to "make ones camping area more suitable" - I was told this. I don't know what it means, but I nodded sagely when told, I've gotten a bit tired of saying "we have to do what..."
- Some kind of rechargeable super torch for midnight bathroom excursions. Again, sensible.
- A bag-o-braai - not sure we will have the space (almost definitely not) but it looks amazing.
Bag-o-braai from here - Chairs that fold away into nothing. Failing that, perhaps we can make do with 1 chair and have some sort of lottery system for who gets to sit on it at the end of the day?
- Table that also fold away into nothing. Failing that, perhaps we should just take a plastic sheet for the ground and a chopping board? That way we'll have somewhere to cut the lemons for the gin & tonics.
- Bear Grylls Machete – for when we run out of money and gin and have to eat each other.
Three girls planning to take Southern Africa by storm in the Put Foot Rally 2012. 7 Countries in 17 days with one car, three erratic drivers and a running tally of gin bottles.

Top Ten Tuesday: Camping equipment that we need
As the rally rapidly approaches and I keep waking up with night sweats realising what on the "list of things to do in preparation for the rally" has been done (not much), still has to be done (lots, and growing), may have been an impossible dream and should be taken off the list entirely - I thought it was about time we actually started making these lists visible. Perhaps if they are here for everyone to see, we'll get things done? And perhaps someone with fresh eyes can tell us if we're being a little hysterical....
